The remains will reach the city Saturday morning and be conveyed by the morning Prescott train to Osgoode Station, from whence funeral will be held to St. John's Church and cemetery, Osgoode.

Late Mrs. Ellen Scanlon

The funeral of Ellen Ward, relict of the late Matthew Scanlon, took place on Tuesday morning from her late residence, 17 Gloucester street, to St. Patrick's Church, where requiem mass was chanted by Rev. Father Burke, Interment took place at Osgoode cemetery, where services were conducted by Rev. Father Corkery, parish priest

The late Mrs. Scanlon was born in the county of Limerick. Ireland, 82 years ago, coming to Ottawa, at an early age and resided here until her marriage to the late Matthew Scanlon after which she took up residence at Osgoode Station, where her husband pre-deceased her some years ago. In 1896 she removed to Ottawa.

The deceased is survived by seven sons, Patrick, Osgoode Station; Matthew, Eganville; John, Malone. N.Y.; Lawrence, Arnprior; Thomas, East Hartford, Conn.; and William, and Michael, of Ottawa; also four daughters, Mrs. H. C. Orpin, Nantucket Island, Mass.; Mrs. C. Carmody, Misses Margaret and Nellie, Ottawa.

The floral offerings received were: wreath, family; cross, grandchildren.

The funeral of Mrs. Hugh Cleland, of Osgoode, who died on Thursday, Jan. 9. at the age of 63 years, took place on Saturday, to St. John’s Church, where Requiem High Mass was chanted by Rev. Father Brownrigg. The pallbearers were Messrs. J. R. Blanchfield, Joeeph Moses, Alex Taylor and Charles Mooney.

Deceased is survived by her husband, two sons, Oliver, Osgoode Station; Hugh, West Osgoode; and one daughter, Mrs. T. Herbert, Herbert’s corners; two sisters, Mrs. Jas Buckles, Ottawa, and Miss B. Kenny, Spokane, Mrs. Cleland, of Ottawa, widow of the late Mr. R. Cleland, is a daughter-in-law of deceased.

Cardo - Blanchfield

A very pretty wedding took place this morning at 9.30 in St. John’s Church, Osgoode, on the Prescott Road, when Mr. Thomas Cardo, engineer of the American Bank Note Company of this city, was united in marriage to Miss Margaret M. Blanchfield, daughter of the late Patrick Blanchfield, of Osgoode.

The ceremony was performed by Rev. Father McCauley of St. John’s, in the presence of a large number of friends of the family.

The bride wore a smart tailor-made suit of navy blue chiffon broadcloth, with hat to match.

The funeral of the late Mr. P. Blanchfield, an old resident of the Prescott road in Osgoode township, took place Sunday afternoon. Over a hundred carriages were in the cortege. Service was conducted in St. John’s church by Rev. Father McAuley, P. P. The pall bearers were Messrs. Moses Doyle, James Herbert, P. McCarthy, John Blanchfield, M. O’Brien and John Tierney.

Father McCauley Sent To Osgoode

In St. Patrick s church yesterday morning Father McCauley at the close of his sermon announced to the congregation that the sermon just preached would be the last one he would deliver in that church as he had received a letter from the archbishop telling him that he had been appointed parish priest at Osgoode. He said that he was sorry to leave St. Patrick’s church, but it was the will of the archbishop and must be acted upon accordingly.
