Philip McEvoy Dies At Home in Osgoode

An old and highly-esteemed resident of Osgoode, Ont., died yesterday in the person of Philip McEvoy, at the age of 78 years. Mr. McEvoy had been in failing health for some time. His passing will occasion wide-spread regret among many friends in the district.

Born at Osgoode, Mr. McEvoy was the last surviving member of the family of the late John McEvoy. For many years he had been engaged in farming, but for some time past had been retired. He was a devout member of St. John's Roman Catholic Church, and was well-known throughout the parish.

Surviving his death are his widow, formerly Mary Daley; four sons, Thomas, Augustine and Raymond McEvoy, Osgoode, and James McEvoy, Detroit; two daughters. Mrs. J. H. McEwen. Osgoode, and Mrs. John Meagher, South Gloucester Also surviving are 24 grandchildren.

The funeral will be held from his late home at Osgoode on Saturday at 9.15 am., Standard Time, to St. John's Church for requiem high mass at 9.30 o’clock. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
