Mrs. Michael Herbert

Following an illness of three months, the death occurred at her home in Osgoode, Ont., of Mrs. Michael Herbert, a life-long and highly esteemed resident of that place, and a sister of John, Edmund, and Timothy Shields, and Mrs. T. Daley, Ottawa, Mrs. Herbert’s death, at the age of 5O years, although not entirely unexpected, will grieve many friends in the Osgoode district.

Born there, she was formerly Emma Shields, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Shields. During her long residence, there, she was a devout member of St. John's Roman Catholic Church, and took a deep and active part in all parochial work.

In addition to her husband, Michael Herbert, and her three brothers, and sister, John, Edmund, and Timothy Shields, and Mrs. T. Daley, in Ottawa, she leaves to mourn, another brother, Patrick Shields, Osgoode; one son, James Herbert and a daughter, Miss Mary Herbert, at home.

The funeral will be held from her late residence In Osgoode. although the date and time have not been set.
