Funeral Takes Place Of John J. Herbert

The funeral of John J. Herbert, lifelong resident of Osgoode,who died at his home on Saturday, was largely attended this morning. Mr. Herbert was 70 years of age, and had been ill only a month.

The cortege moved from his residence to St. John’s Church, Osgoode, where Rev. E. A. Maloney chanted requiem high mask at 8.15. Rev. Frank Corkery was in the sanctuary, and also said the prayers in the parish cemetery, assisted by Father Maloney.

Pallbearers were J. Doyle, A. Doyle, J. McEvoy, H. Clelland, J. Blanchfield and T. Daley.

Chief mourners were four sons, Al, Stephen and Ambrose, of Osgoode, and Joseph, of Ottawa; two daughters, Helen and Anna, of Ottawa, and three brothers, Michael, of Osgoode, and Richard and Simon, of Ottawa.

There were a number of floral and spiritual offerings.
